There is a meeting of the DPW tomorrow for more discussion of the plan to narrow Washington street.
The apparent goal of this $800,000 project, including removal of most of the 24 trees, is to slow traffic. Perhaps enhanced "police activity" would do the job without the expense, arborcide, and other disruptions.
Details are in a front-page article in the current Ipswich Chronicle. http://www.wickedlocal.com/ipswich/news/x2097055024/Washington-Street-in-flux#axzz1EpFtaFog
The meeting is at 7:30, in Town Hall, Room C.
Are any IGC members are interested?
