Get Ready for October "Share Your Garden" Slide Show Meeting

 

Dear Ipswich Garden Club,

We are planning a different and fun program for our October 8, 2024 IGC meeting.

Our speakers for this special evening will be ... US! 

We hope you will plan to be there and participate in an inspiring evening of gardening camaraderie and shared experiences!

We’ll celebrate our green thumbs and learn from each other's triumphs and challenges. 

Please send to Paula’s email your favorite garden photos to share at our October 8 meeting. Paula will prepare a Keynote slide show of the photos that you send and you will able to tell about them at the meeting when they are shown. (Please send 1 to 4 photos max).

What photos to share?

Design Dilemmas, Triumphs and yes, those tragedies: 

Show us how your garden has evolved. Did your design work as planned? 

What changes did you make?

Overcoming Obstacles: We've all faced gardening challenges. Share your solutions 

to problems like drought, deer, clay soil, rabbits, shade or ?.

Garden Journaling: How do you keep track of your garden's progress? Share your note-taking tips and tricks.

Seeking Solutions: Bring your gardening questions with a photo and let the group brainstorm ideas.

Seasons: How does your garden celebrate the seasons? Favorite Spring, Fall, Summer and even Winter gardens.

Inspiration from Afar:

Or you may want to share photos of your visits to favorite public or private garden that has inspired you.

The Greenslet Cup-- an IGC Tradition

Marion Swan writes in her History of the Ipswich Garden Club: 

"At the 1933 March meeting Mrs. Greenslet donated an 'old French cup to be used

 in the nosegay competition throughout the summer.'  The cup was to be 'held in turn

 by the various members' but exactly how the competitions would be held is unclear. 

Of course the Greenslet Cup continues to be part of our club tradition to this day.”

This year’s theme is “A-Tisket, a-Tasket, a bouquet in a basket.” 

Bring your happy entry to our Annual Meeting on Saturday, April 6th at 2pm.
