Dear Garden Club Members,
Our plant sale is our only fundraiser for the year and as you are digging and dividing your plants in preparation for the sale we hope the following tips are helpful to you:
• Please kindly label all plants using the label list on the blog. (Plant labeling list is posted under Plant Sale heading at top of this blog.)
(If you need wooden sticks for labeling, please contact me.)
• Mix half peat moss with half garden soil for potting.
• Perennials sell best at the sale.
• Plants to avoid are houseplants, tropical plants, invasive plants, orange day lilies, green leaf hosta (unless they are of a special variety.) And please, bring only healthy plants.
• Begin potting 1-2 weeks before the sale for best results
Deliver your plants on Friday from 3 p.m.6 p.m. to the Hall Haskell lawn or make advance arrangements with me.
We would like to have all plants priced and ready to go Friday evening so we can focus on other tasks the morning before the sale begins.
Important information to remember:
Each member is expected to donate at least 20 plants*. We need the support of each and every member for a successful sale!!
*If you don't have plants to dig this year, you may purchase perennial plants to donate.
*If you will be away the weekend of the sale, plan ahead and drop your plants off with me. Please email me if you would like to do this.
Warmest Regards,
Joyce
